The DeKalb County Tax Collection Department notifies the property owner and is responsible for collecting the correct tax for each parcel of land.

Taxes are due every year October 1. Taxes can be paid between October 1 and December 31 without penalty. Taxes become delinquent after December 31. Any unpaid taxes are assessed fees and 1% interest per month beginning in January of each calendar year. All unpaid property is sold at auction in April or May to the highest bidder. The property is sold with a three year “Right of Redemption”. Personal property has no right of redemption.

Payment may be made as follows:

  • You may come to the Revenue Commissioner’s Office at either of our offices and make payment in person by cash, check, credit card, or debit card.
  • You may pay by mail with check to:

  • Pay property tax online
    This gives you the ability to pay your property taxes at your convenience, anytime day or night; the convenience of paying from your home, work, or anywhere that you have access to the internet. The online option gives you the opportunity to pay your taxes securely using a check, credit card, or debit card. A convenience fee of 2.75% + $0.30 processing fee will be assessed. The fee for online check is $2.00. These are not fees charged by the Revenue Commissioner’s Office; they are charged by our payment processing company as a convenience fee.
